Directed by Raghav Lawrence, Laxmmi Bomb also stars as Kiara Advani. The film is based on the Tamil comedy horror film Kanchana starring Raghav Lawrence, Sarath Kumar and Ray Laxmmi Bomb.

It tells the story of vengeful ghosts who kill an innocent man in search of justice for their killing. Akshay plays the protagonist who falls in love with Kiara, a transgender soul.

Production of the Laxmmi Bomb began when Lawrence withdrew from the project in May, less than a month after it landed.

The director explained that he made this decision because he felt “insulted and disappointed” because the first poster for the movie was released without his knowledge. He announced his return in June after meeting with Akshay Kumar and the producers of the film.
